Projects
SJ Control has actively
participated in some of the largest desalination and recycling
projects in Australia, such as:
Bundamba
Advanced Water
Treatment Plant
Bundamba Advanced Water Treatment Plant (AWTP) in
Ipswich, Queensland, provides up to 60MLD of purified recycled
water to South East Queensland. The plant uses membrane
filtration, reverse
osmosis and a final oxidation process that combines ultraviolet
light and hydrogen peroxide to re-purify treated wastewater. The
plant was bulilt in 2 stages, and was awarded numerous awards
including the water treatment plant of the year. The Bundamba AWTP
was a major infrastructure project that played a key role in the
delivery of an alternative water supply to the south east
Queensland.
Gold
Coast Desalination Plant
The Gold Coast Desalination plant, located at Tugun, Queensland, provides up
to 133 MLD of fresh water to residents and businesses in
South East Queensland. Sydney
Desalination Plant
Sydney Desalination plant is a drinking water supply
project operated by Sydney Water,
Sydney's state-owned water supply corporation. The plant is
located in the Kurnell industrial estate area, in Sydney's southern
suburbs and provides up to 250 MLD to Sydney, the Illawarra and the
Blue Mountains. The plant
itself was built by Blue Water Joint Venture, under contract to
Sydney Water. The Blue Water Joint Venture comprised the plant
constructor, John Holland Pty Ltd, and the operator, Veolia Water
Australia Pty Ltd.
Perth Southern Seawater
Desalination Plant
The Binningup Desalination Plant is Western Australia's second major
desalination plant to supply fresh drinking water.
It is designed to initially deliver 50 gigalitres of potable water per year or 20% of
Perth's requirements. The Binningup Desalination Plant is a planned desalination plant to
be built near Binningup,
Western Australia. It will supply water to the state capital Perth, as well as the nearby
regional city of Bunbury and will be known as the Southern
Seawater Desalination Project.
